The parish was organized under the guidance of the late Fr George A Gladky, and was chartered in August, 1964, in the city of St Petersburg, FL. The original Church building was a converted Baptist Church which was purchased in 1966 and located in a residential area of the city. At that time several of the founding members lived within walking distance of the church. Although the original members of the parish were composed of people of Slavic ancestry and retired individuals, the parish quickly grew to include various age groups and a few converts. The liturgical language was Church Slavonic and English.
By the mid-1990’s, more than half of the parishioners lived in northern Pinellas County and it was decided to move the parish to accommodate the new geographic status of the parishioners.
